FRIENDS & POETRY LOVERS,
I am thrilled to share that my newest poetry collection, Wolves in Shells, debuts today from the University of Nebraska Press! This book was chosen by Tomas Q. Morin as the winner of the 2024 Backwaters Press Prize. Says Morin, “[e]ach of these poems moves with the honesty of an ax” and, these days, I imagine we are all craving a lot more socio-political honesty.
The poems in this collection cover themes of gender inequity, trauma, ecology and climate change, and wolf rewilding. As one reader has recently stated, it is a classic “man vs bear” story inspiring a reader to root for the animal.
Please consider purchasing your own copy of this book or buying for a friend. In the attached flyer, you will find a code to receive 40% off your purchase. You might also consider writing a review for a literary publication, stocking this book in your library or bookstore, or teaching feature it in a college course. If you have a reading venue and would be interested in hosting me as a speaker or visiting writer in your classroom, do reach out. I am seeking opportunities.
Finally, if you are a literary journal, you are likely receiving this email because poems from this book have been featured in your journal. Please consider celebrating my book on your social media platforms and/or asking a review editor to complete a review for your journal.
Thank you, in advance, for all the ways you and yours choose to help me celebrate this wonderful book!
