Slaughter the One Bird, my first full length collection, debuts with Sundress Publications this summer. This book examines the lifelong effects of harm done by childhood sexual assault against the back drop of a Midwestern landscape and Judeo-Christianity. Framed by the Hebrew ritual sacrifice for cleansing leprosy from a household referenced in Leviticus, as Julie L. Moore (author of Full Worm Moon) says, the book "depicts the devastation that pedophilia wreaks when its plague is allowed to fester." Pre-order information coming soon!

Here's my first video teaser for Slaughter the One Bird. Enter bravely (TW). It's "Sunday Morning."

To celebrate National Poetry Month this year, M Bartley Seigel, the current poet laureate of Michigan's Upper Peninsula, hosted "Coming Up Verse: Remote Revivals of Poetry & Song." This event was held April 9, featuring several other wonderful poets from Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

Having grown up in the Keweenaw, I was one of the featured poets!

Each poet read to a socially-distanced audience at Michigan Tech University's Rozza Center, where our virtual performances were viewable on the in-house movie screen. Though the readings were recorded as a whole, due to contract restrictions, I can only share my set.

Please enjoy!
